Dr. Mikael Isaksson - CEO
Mikael
is CEO of UpZide Technologies AB and one of the founders.
In his previous employment at Telia Research AB, he was
project manager for VDSL projects from 1995 to 2001. In the
joint partnership between STMicroelectronics and Telia Research
AB, from 1998 to 2001, he was the project manager for the Telia
team. During his last year at Telia Research, he was also
manager for the profit center ZpeedCom.
From 1996 to 2001, Mikael was actively involved in the international
standardization of VDSL. This included participation in ITU-T
SG15/Q4, T1E1.4 and ETSI TM6. He has also been active in the
international telephone company group FSAN and in the
industrial consortium VDSL Alliance. Mikael invented the
original Zipper DMT concept in 1995. Later, this duplex scheme
became a central part of the international VDSL DMT standards.
On February 27, 2004, Mikael was awarded an honorary doctorate
(Technologiae Doctorem Honoris Causa) by the Lund Institute of
Technology in Sweden for his contributions to the development of
digital duplexing and the VDSL standard.
